Our future strangers

Technological changes picking up speed every single day, leaving yesterdays gadgets behind on the scrap heap and the non stop development or breakdown, depending on which side you’re on, of everyday language. There has never been a shorter space in time between changes in our culture and way of communicating, so what happens when we attempt to communicate with our utopian, neo futurist friends of centuries to come? Compared to the deciphering of the Egyptian hieroglyphics this breakdown of communication may be immense. Will our everyday use of signs and symbols, colours and diagrams mean anything to an extremely developed, or even worse, reverted neandertal-like species in the far off future?  An interesting look into this subject has been made by John stang here:
